The school was named after Dave Jones, who was a business owner and a Pitt Meadows’ representative to the School District 42 Board of Trustees. He served on the board for fourteen years. He promoted the advancement of the community by helping with events and activities. The Pitt Meadows Community in conjunction with the PTA held an appreciation night for Dave Jones. He was presented with four plaques. The first plaque was given to Jones to take home as appreciation for his service.
