The Struthers family is historically linked to the General Store. Mr. William Struthers and Mrs. Jeannie Struthers originated in Glasgow, Scotland. Mr. and Mrs. Struthers and their son John moved to a tiny Vancouver Island village called Rocky Bay where their youngest son Robert (Bob) Struthers was born. Later, they moved to Vancouver for one year. In April 1921, the family settled in Pitt Meadows to embark on a new business venture, a General Store and Post Office. The Struthers family would reside in the General Store for 34 years.<\/p>\r\n
