This aerial was taken in October/November of 1978, showing Airport Way, Pitt Meadows regional airport and surrounding farmland. Check out the Pitt Meadows Regional Airports website at http://flyypk.ca/ Pitt Meadows Regional Airport was built to serve as a satellite site to the Vancouver International Airport and was announced in May 1961 by the Department of Transport. The airport officially opened in 1963. It was transferred from Transport Canada to the Pitt Meadows Airport Society effective May 1999.
