Isabel Doreen Harty (nee. Sharpe) was born on February 13, 1925 in Coquitlam, British Columbia. She was the second eldest in a family of five children. Isabel grew up in Pitt Meadows and Ireland. In 1937, she was Pitt Meadows first Queen. Below is a photo of Isabel Sharpe wearing a white dress, fox fur pelt cape, and adorning a tiara while holding a bouquet. She served Canada as a Veteran in World War II. The second black and white photo shows Isabel Doreen Sharpe in an army uniform. In 1945 she marries Gordon Harty and were married for 65 years. They have several children, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-four great grandchildren. She and her husband resided in Pitt Meadows until 1976. On August 14, 2010 Isabel passed away at age 85.
