The sun is slowly returning and bringing wonderfully warm weather with it! We’re ready and excited for all the fun events we have planned for this summer!
New Hours
Starting in the summer, when our summer students start and staff hours increase, we start opening our doors longer and open the Hoffmann Site!
This year we will be open at the General Store Site (June 5th) on Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Hoffmann Site will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm starting late June. If the site isn’t open during those times (due to extreme heat, or perhaps an extremely popular Heritage Thursday session),just come across the street and nicely ask staff to let you in and we will be happy to do it!
Our summer hours continue until the September long weekend, so be sure to check us out before we reduce our hours in the fall!
Pitt Meadows Day (June 1st)
A tradition here in Pitt Meadows, and the Museum is always a part of the fun! This year will look a little different as we are no longer on the parade route, but we are hoping that you will still drop by. We will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Our dedicated Engine Crew will be in the parade and down at the park showcasing their lovingly restored pieces from the Hoffmann collection. We strongly encourage everyone to go and appreciate their effort and dedication to that cause!
A few of our staff and volunteers will also be joining the Country Fest down at the Park. We will be bringing some fun chalkboard games and a fortune teller paper craft.
Canada Day (July 1st)
As always, we join the City of Pitt Meadows down at šxʷhék̓ʷnəs (Spirit Square) to join in on the celebration. From 9 am to 2 pm, we will be there with all the fun history and games! Be sure to come and find us! The Museum will be closed during the event, so be sure to visit our booth!

Heritage Thursdays
One of our favourite annual summer programs! Heritage Thursdays return starting July 10th until August 21st, we welcome children to learn something fun and interesting every Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. for a $5.00 fee.
Although the theme isn’t set yet (as our summer student will need some time to get their ideas ready to go),we know that it will be another fun and creative summer and we cannot wait to welcome you back!

Museum Sundays
Although not a summer exclusive, our Museum Sundays program is ready to capture your heart again!
Every week we put out a new set of themed craft kits for a small $2.00 donation (which all goes back into supporting our work here at the Museum, and creating new fun programs for you to enjoy!). Each kit contains all the materials you need to complete the craft (minus what we think you should already have at home like markers and scissors),a tutorial, a sticker, and a mini book from our galleries.
The crafts change weekly, and we always have kits in our main gallery for you to check out and purchase. It’s a great activity to bring along with you on your summer adventures!

Fun Craft Kits
We are bringing back our popular “Camp Muse” kits in our gallery! These kits were available during Spring Break this year and were a fun hit! If you missed out, be sure to check these out! These kits are available for a $5.00 donation.
Each kit contains one Drawstring backpack craft (backpack, paints, and paintbrush),two make-your-own friendship bracelets (beads, string),one beaded lizard (beads, string, keychain),one paper animal (fasteners, paper animal outline),several stickers (green and yellow themed ones, and our logo),Young Rangers mini book, and instructions on how to make all the crafts.
We encourage you to take the kits home with you, as there is more space and less likelihood of a bead or two rolling under an artifact and disappearing. Everything you need minus markers are in the kit, so you can make the projects anywhere.
New Exhibit
We have a beautiful new exhibit being built. “Policing and Protection” is all about the Pitt Meadows Police and the Fire Department. As well as another exhibit all about Heritage Hall! Our Curator has been hard at work creating two interesting new exhibits, and we hope that you will enjoy all of her hard work!
Be sure to drop on by this summer to see the new display!
